Andrea was great, the others not so much
The concert started late, the show went on for 45 minutes, then there was a 20-minute intermission. We left early when a young woman with a very average voice tried to sing a duet with Andrea. Andrea was spectacular, but he only sang about a third of the time. And honestly, some of the other singers were not worth the $300+ we paid for tickets. Not trying to be mean, but I’ve heard better singers in church. There was also a talented but glitzy violinist but I don’t need the Lawrence Welk vibe, just the music. Add that to the other acts that were highlighted, and it was just not worth the money. This was more a variety show than a concert by Columbus Symphony. If the concert is “Andrea Bocelli AND FRIENDS,” know that the “friends” are doing the majority of the concert, and that they’re not that great. The moral: read the fine print before forking out the money.

Columbus Symphony was a complete mess. She appeared unwell, possibly under the influence of drugs. The situation started off mildly amusing, then worsened, ending in a pitiful state. Unable to play the guitar, she resorted to nervously biting her fingernails.
Her well-documented issues were apparent, but that is no excuse for delivering such a disappointing performance. Paying $40 for a ticket should guarantee a certain level of professionalism. Attending this concert was a rough experience that left much to be desired.
